Samantha Nania

Samantha Nania, PhD, is a Senior Field Application Scientist specializing in IR and UV technologies at PerkinElmer, Inc. since April 2018. Prior to this role, Samantha served as a PhD candidate and research assistant at The University of Iowa, where dissertation research focused on the "Spectroscopic Analysis of Molecular Fluids at the Solid-Liquid Interface" under the supervision of Professor Scott Shaw. This research involved utilizing dynamic wetting techniques and spectroscopy, mathematical modeling, and implementing temperature-controlled experiments, while also mentoring undergraduate researchers. Samantha has experience teaching chemistry courses and conducting research on the interactions between cholesterol and cell membranes related to Alzheimer's disease at Monmouth College. Educational credentials include a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry with a minor in Math from Monmouth College.
