Abbey Gonter

Director, Financial Planning And Analysis at Perkins School for the Blind

Abbey Gonter has a diverse work experience across various organizations. Abbey started their career at the Microcredit Summit Campaign as an Executive Assistant in 2002. Abbey then joined Vital Voices Global Partnership as a Program and Development Assistant from 2003 to 2004, and later served as an Associate Program Director for Development from 2004 to 2005.

In 2005, Abbey moved to JSI | John Snow, Inc., where they held several roles, including Program Officer from 2005 to 2008, Project Administrator from 2008 to 2011, Field Office Operations Coordinator from 2012 to 2015, Client Account Manager Lead from 2015 to 2016, and Senior Operations and Finance Manager from 2016 to 2017.

After their time with JSI, Abbey joined The International Foundation for Electoral Systems in 2018. Abbey started as a Senior Program Administrator from 2018 to 2019, then became a Senior Manager of Program Administration from 2019 to 2021, and finally served as Deputy Director of Program Administration from 2021 to 2022.

Currently, Abbey is working at Perkins School for the Blind as the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis since September 2022.

Abbey Gonter obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Smith College, where they studied from 1997 to 2001.
