Perkins School for the Blind
Jessica Brown has extensive experience working in the field of education for individuals with visual impairments. Jessica began their career at The Carroll Center for the Blind in 2003 as an Assistant to the Director of Education Programming, and later became a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments. In 2007, they joined the Perkins School for the Blind, where they held various roles including Certified Teacher, Assistive Technology Liaison, Lead Teacher, Assistant Education Director of Secondary Program, and Assistant Education Director of Community Programs. Currently, they serve as the Education Director of the Early Learning Center, Lower School, and Secondary Program at Perkins School for the Blind.
Jessica Brown earned a Post Graduate degree in Special Education Law from Simmons College in 2012-2013. Jessica then pursued a Special Education Director Licensure from the University of Northern Colorado from 2016 until present. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Telecommunications from Michigan State University and a Master in Special Education with a certification in teaching students with visual impairments from UMass Boston.
