Alay Thakrar

Alay Thakrar is an Urban Designer at Perkins&Will, having joined the company in May 2022. Prior to this role, Alay gained valuable experience as an Urban Design Intern at The University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture and as a Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research Assistant at the same institution. Alay's professional background includes architectural work with Language.Architecture.Body, StudioPOD, Little River Architects, and JJP Architects + Planners, contributing to a range of design projects from commercial spaces to competitions. Alay holds a Master’s degree in Urban Design from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute of Architecture and Environmental Studies. Additional educational endeavors include participation in workshops at The University of British Columbia and Sichuan Fine Arts Institute.
