Brendan Coughlan has over 10 years of work experience in the banking industry. Brendan is currently the Head of Retail Credit Centre at PTSB since November 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Ulster Bank from 2011 to 2022, holding various roles including Head of Credit, Personal Banking, Head of Retail, Private and Business Direct Sanctioning, and Head of Problem Debt Management Oversight and Optimisation. Brendan also served as the Acting Head of Strategic Portfolio Oversight and Optimisation and held managerial positions in retail provisions forecasting and reporting, as well as loss forecasting and stress testing.
Brendan Coughlan obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business with a specialization in Accounting and Finance from Trinity College, Dublin. This degree was earned between the years 1998 and 2002. Later, from 2008 to 2011, Brendan pursued a Higher Diploma in Financial Services with a focus on Financial Services Management from University College Dublin.
In addition to their formal education, Brendan Coughlan achieved a certification in the NWG Climate Change Transformation Programme from the University of Edinburgh Business School in October 2022.
