Helen Strachan has a diverse work experience spanning over 25 years. Helen started their career in 1995 as a Contracts Administration Specialist and later became a Contracts Manager at EDS Australia Pty Ltd. In 1998, they worked as a Lawyer at Gilbert + Tobin, and from 2001 to 2007, they served as a Senior Associate at Minter Ellison lawyers. Helen then joined Pernod Ricard Winemakers in 2007 as a Senior Corporate Lawyer and held various roles within the legal department until 2013. From 2013 to 2016, they were the Legal Manager-Commercial at Pernod Ricard Winemakers, and from 2016 to 2023, they served as the Legal & Corporate Affairs Director. In 2019, they took on additional roles as Chairperson at the National Wine Foundation Council and as a Board Member at DrinkWise and Australian Grape & Wine. Additionally, they were a Committee Member at The Drinks Association from 2017 to 2019.
Helen Strachan completed their education at various institutions. In 1984-1986, they attended Renmark High School. Later, from 1987-1988, they studied at St Ignatius College Athelstone. Subsequently, they attended the University of Adelaide from 1989 to 1995, where they earned a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) with a focus on History and Politics. In 2019, they furthered their education at the Australian Institute of Company Directors by completing the Company Directors Course.
