Reinier Fontaine-Perez

Reinier Fontaine-Perez, CPA, CIA has a diverse work experience in the field of internal audit, risk assurance, and accounting. Reinier is currently an Associate Director of Global Internal Audit at Perrigo Company plc since 2022. Prior to that, Reinier worked at PwC from 2015 to 2022, starting as a Risk Assurance Associate and progressing to the roles of Enterprise Risk & Controls Senior Associate and Enterprise Risk & Controls Manager. In these roles, they performed IT general control, business process, and operational audits, coached associates and interns, and communicated audit findings. Reinier also worked as an Accounting Intern at JBS USA in 2013, where they conducted due process for invoice payment approval, resolved vendor payment issues, and assisted with month-end accounts payable accruals. Additionally, they had internships at Perrigo in 2012, where they incorporated compliance audit programs and assisted in the development of the global code of conduct. Reinier also participated in audit projects in the U.S. and Mexico during their internship at Perrigo. Prior to their internships, Reinier worked as an Accounting/Business Tutor at Grand Rapids Community College in 2012.

Reinier Fontaine-Perez, CPA, CIA has a diverse education history. Reinier obtained a Master of Science in Accounting with a GPA of 3.89 from Grand Valley State University in 2015. Prior to that, they pursued a BBA double major in Accounting Information Management and Accounting Fraud Investigation at Davenport University from 2012 to 2014. As a transfer student, Reinier attended Grand Rapids Community College in 2011 with a focus on Accounting. Reinier completed their high school education at Wyoming Park High School, where they earned a High School Diploma with a specialization in Accounting in 2011. Reinier has also achieved multiple certifications, including the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) from The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc., obtained in both 2016 and 2020. In addition, they hold the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation granted by the State of Michigan in 2016.
