Ginger Askren began their work experience in 2000 at Toyota, where they worked in production until 2012. In 2015, they became the HIM/Credentialing Manager at Select Specialty Hospital. From 2016, they served as the Director of Health Information Management at Perry County Memorial Hospital. Beginning in 2019, Ginger worked as the Health Information Coding Supervisor at Methodist Hospital of Henderson, Kentucky. Finally, in 2021, they took on the role of Epic HIM Application Analyst/Trainer at Deaconess Health System.

Ginger Askren attended Vincennes University from 2013 to 2015, where they obtained an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Health Information/Medical Records Technology/Technician. Ginger then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General at the Indiana Institute of Technology from 2018 to 2020.

Perry County Memorial Hospital is a nonprofit, county-owned critical access hospital located in Tell City, Indiana. PCMH is a 25 bed acute care facility with an emergency department, surgery center, birthing center, and full range of outpatient services.
