Christopher O'Brien

Farah Brand Creative Director at Perry Ellis International

Christopher O'Brien has a diverse range of work experience in the fashion industry. Christopher started their career as a Studio Assistant Intern at Jonathan Saunders, where they gained valuable insight into fashion studio operations. Christopher then interned as a Design Assistant at Giorgio Armani, developing merchandising for the Armani Jeans line.

O'Brien later worked as a Studio Manager and Design Assistant at JENS LAUGESEN DESIGN ADVISORY, assisting with research, design, and brand development. Christopher then joined E.Tautz as a Fashion Designer, responsible for designing and developing British heritage sportswear collections.

In 2011, O'Brien founded their own label, Christopher O'Brien ltd, where they served as the Creative Director and Designer. Christopher showcased their menswear collection at London Fashion Week and gained international stockists.

Christopher then moved on to Lyle & Scott as a Senior Designer and interim Creative Director, overseeing the direction and aesthetic of the collection, managing the design team, and ensuring the brand's DNA was reflected in each season.

Most recently, O'Brien worked at Perry Ellis International as the Global Head of Design & Concept for the Farah brand. Christopher was responsible for the creative direction, implementation of brand concepts, and developing collaborations to enhance the brand's profile and revenue. Christopher also served as the Design Manager for Farah, overseeing the designers, setting seasonal range concepts, and ensuring timelines were met.

Christopher O'Brien completed a BA(hons) degree in Fashion Design Womenswear at Central Saint Martins from 2003 to 2007. Christopher later pursued a Masters degree in Fashion Design Menswear at the same institution from 2009 to 2011.
