LUIS TORO has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as the Senior Director of Multicultural and Licensing Marketing at Perry Ellis International since April 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Marketing Director at Perry Ellis International from November 2010 to April 2022. Before joining Perry Ellis, LUIS worked as a professor of Fashion Marketing and Digital Communications at Miami International University of Art & Design starting from July 2008. Furthermore, LUIS TORO founded their own clothing line, DULCE DE LECHE MENSWEAR, in January 2002, where they served as the President and Creative Director until July 2009. During this time, they successfully launched and developed the brand, achieving $2 million in sales within three years and growing the company to $6 million in sales.
LUIS TORO holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with an emphasis in Marketing, PR, and International Business from the University of Miami, completed from 2000 to 2001. LUIS also possesses a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, earned between 1993 and 1999. Currently, LUIS TORO is pursuing a graduate certificate in Digital Marketing with a specialization in Digital Communication and Media/Multimedia at the Yale School of Management since 2020. Furthermore, they have obtained a certification in "Digital Marketing: A Strategic Perspective" from the Yale School of Management Executive Education in February 2021.
