Rolake Akinkugbe-Filani is an Advisory Board Member at Persistent Energy. Rolake has held this position since September 2020. Prior to that, they worked as an Associate Director at Aruwa Capital Management from November 2016 to December 2018. In this role, they were responsible for providing direction on IFU origination efforts, advising on investment opportunities and market conditions across the region, and leading investment appraisals.

Before their time in the private sector, Rolake worked as a Senior Analyst at Mixta Africa from August 2013 to October 2016. In this role, they were responsible for conducting market research and feasibility studies for real estate projects across Africa.

Rolake has a wealth of experience in the energy sector and is a respected voice in the industry. Rolake is a graduate of McGill University where they received their Bachelor of Arts in Economics.

Rolake Akinkugbe-Filani has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from TRIUM Global Executive MBA, an MSc in International Relations from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and a BSc in Government from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Rolake also has A-Levels in Economics, French, English and Politics from Headington Girls School Oxford, and SSCE WAEC O'Levels in 9 subjects from Atlantic Hall. Additionally, they have a certification from the German Energy Solutions Initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy in Project Development - Digital German Training (Solar Technology, Embedded Solar Concepts, Solar Resource & Yield Estimates, Array Sizing, Storage Opportunities, Rooftops, Construction / OM, Site Suitability, Financial & Legal Aspects, Contracts & PPAs).
