Douwe van der Helm has over thirty years of experience in procurement and trade, with a strong focus on global sourcing strategies for micro ingredients in the food industry. Douwe worked at companies like Perstorp Group as Director of Procurement and Trade, DSM as Lead Buyer, Cargill as Global Lead Buyer, Provimi as Global Lead Buyer and Sales Manager, and KappersFoods BV as a Trader. Through their roles, they have demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing sourcing strategies, leading negotiations, managing global communication, and exceeding hard targets.

Douwe van der Helm completed a Bsc in International Agricultural Trade at Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences from 1983 to 1988. In 2002, they attended an MBA Masterclass at INSEAD. In 2020, they obtained a degree in Executive Sales Management from Nyenrode Business University.
