Stavros Pressas

CTO at Petalite

Stavros Pressas is the CTO at Petalite and has over 25 years of experience in the field of power electronics. Stavros has worked as a technical consultant, design engineer, and professor during their career. In 1982, they began working as an applications engineer for Rohde and Schwarz. In 1983, they became an associate professor of power electronics at the Technological and Educational Institute of Patras. From 1987 to 2003, they worked as a power converters specialist for RES at the European Commission. In 1990, they joined CRES as a technical consultant. Stavros was responsible for the design of power electronic converters for renewable energy systems and the foundation of the R+D laboratory at CRES. Stavros also prepared proposals for the EU and realized EC R+D projects. In 1994, they left CRES and joined NSE LTD as a design engineer. Stavros worked on various projects related to renewable energy and power electronics. In 2003, they left NSE LTD and joined RESPECT Engineering as a technical consultant. Stavros has also been working as a part-time professor at the University of Patras since 2004.

Stavros Pressas has a Ph.D. from the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computers Technology at the University of Patras. Stavros also has a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Power Electronics from the University of Bradford, and a Diploma in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens. Stavros is also certified by the Technical Chamber of Greece.

Stavros Pressas reports to Leigh Purnell, Founder & CEO. They work with Lizzie Ingram - Head, Brand, Paul Khullar - Chief of Staff, and David Mead - CFO.
