Monica Lam, CPA

Monica Lam, CPA has over 17 years of experience in the accounting and finance industry. Monica began their career in 2004 at McGuire Furniture Company as a Production Planning Analyst/Accounting Analyst. In 2008, they joined Abaxis, Inc. as a Senior Cost Accountant, where they managed month-end close activities, matrices, and other ad-hoc reports for manufacturing, inventories, product costs and variances, warranty reserves, and deferred revenue analysis. Monica was promoted to Senior Financial Analyst in 2010, where they were responsible for strategic business planning, budgeting and forecasting, financial reporting and analysis, business reviews, revenue compliance and cash management. In 2018, Monica joined Zoetis Inc. as a Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, where they guided finance system integration due to Zoetis’ acquisition of $2B Abaxis life science business ($200M+ in revenue), month-end close, auditing and SOX activities. In 2020, they joined VIVUS, Inc. as an Associate Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, where they ensured expenses and project spending were within budget. Monica is currently the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at PetDx, where they are building financial planning and analysis functions (FP&A) for the rapid-growing, venture-backed life science company.

Monica Lam, CPA holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research from the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Monica is also certified as a Public Accountant by the California Board of Accountancy.
