Katrina Karapanos

Katrina Karapanos is a dedicated researcher currently pursuing a Master's degree in Bioinformatics at the University of Melbourne, while also working as a Master's student at The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity, focusing on RNA structure characterization through long read Nanopore sequencing. Previously, Katrina held the position of Research Assistant at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, contributing to cancer genomics, and served as a Laboratory Technician at the Australian Genome Research Facility, specializing in DNA library preparation. Further experience includes diagnostic testing at Monash Health, where skills in PCR methods and COVID-19 testing were honed, along with foundational roles in specimen reception and tutoring.
