Maxine Morand

Maxine Morand is an experienced businesswoman and research scientist who has dedicated their career to improving cancer outcomes. Maxine is currently the Chair of the Board of Directors at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, one of the leading cancer treatment and research facilities in Australia.

Prior to their current role, Maxine served as the Board Chair for Mount Hotham Alpine Resort Management Board from April 2018 to June 2021. Maxine has also held board positions at Monash University, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation Limited, and Inner East Community Health Service. From 2011 to 2014, they were the CEO of Breast Cancer Network Australia, and from 2003 to 2006, they served as a board member for Victorian Health Promotion Foundation (VicHealth).

Maxine was first elected as a Member of the Victorian Parliament in 2002 and served in this role until 2010. During their time in parliament, they were a strong advocate for cancer research and health promotion initiatives.

From 1996 to 2000, Maxine worked as a research scientist for Cancer Council Victoria. Her work in cancer research has had a profound impact on the way we understand and treat the disease. Maxine has published numerous papers on their findings and is highly respected in the scientific community.

Maxine Morand has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from La Trobe University. Maxine is currently working on their Master's Preliminaries in the same field at the same school.
