Michelle Goulart

Michelle Goulart, DVM, Ph.D has a diverse work experience in the field of veterinary medicine and cancer research. Michelle is currently working at PetMedix as a Principal Scientist - Preclinical Study Lead since March 2023. Prior to this, they held the role of Preclinical Development Scientist at PetMedix from July 2021 to March 2023.

Before joining PetMedix, Michelle worked at Barts Cancer Institute as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant - Tumour Biology from June 2017 to July 2021. Michelle also served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow - Cancer Immunology at the Royal Veterinary College, U. of London from July 2015 to June 2017.

In addition, Michelle worked as an Honorary Research Assistant at Queen Mary University of London from December 2015 to May 2017. Michelle gained practical experience in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery during their internship at Oregon State University from 2014 to 2015.

Their academic journey began at the University of Minnesota, where they worked as a PhD Graduate Student / Research Assistant - Cancer Immunology from August 2008 to June 2014. Michelle also completed a Small Animal Surgery Residency at Universidade Federal de Uberlândia - UFU from February 2002 to July 2003.

Michelle Goulart holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Veterinary Medicine, which they obtained from the University of Minnesota from 2008 to 2014. Michelle also earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Universidade Federal de Uberlândia - UFU. In 2023 to 2025, they attended the Animal Health Regulatory Affairs Graduate Certificate Program at Kansas State University to enhance their expertise in this field.
