Leandro Vasconcelos Thomaz

Leandro Vasconcelos Thomaz is a seasoned geologist and volcanologist with extensive experience in the petroleum sector, currently employed at Petrobras since November 2006. Expertise includes the characterization of volcanic and volcaniclastic rocks across multiple basins in Brazil and interpreting volcanic environments and processes. Previous roles included a geologist trainee at Bunge and an undergraduate researcher at the Portland Cement Brazilian Association. Academically, Leandro holds a PhD in Geochemistry and Petrology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and has completed multiple degrees from prestigious institutions, including a Master’s degree from the University of São Paulo and qualifications in various geological fields.
