Lars Melkild

Lars Melkild is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as Sjefingeniør at Petroleumstilsynet since May 2018. Prior to this role, Lars held positions as Offshore Installation Representative at Shell and BG Group from September 2012 to August 2018. Lars began a career at DNV in July 2000, progressing to Group Leader Offshore Activities and Principal Surveyor, focusing on class follow-up of offshore drilling units and conducting audits and surveys. Early in the career, Lars worked as a Surveyor and Project Manager for newbuildings at Det Norske Veritas from January 1992 to June 1995, specializing in RO-RO passenger vessels. Lars holds a Master's degree in Marine Technology from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), completed in 1991.
