Farida Silalahi's work experience begins in 2016 as a Laboratory Assistant at the Laboratory of Dynamics Geology at Sriwijaya University. Farida worked in this role until December 2017. In 2018, Farida worked as a Laboratory Assistant at the Laboratory of Petrology and Mineralogy, also at Sriwijaya University. Their most recent position is as a Real-Time Support Engineer at Petrolink, starting in August 2021. In this role, they provide 24/7 real-time services for multiple high-profile oil and gas projects worldwide, focusing on remote monitoring, data transfer, data analytics, and telecommunications. Farida also focuses on understanding client requirements, managing data access rules and security, and diagnosing and troubleshooting real-time system issues.

Farida Silalahi completed their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Teknik Geologi/Geofisika at Universitas Sriwijaya from 2015 to 2020. Prior to attending university, they studied Natural Sciences at SMAN 1 Kota Jambi from 2012 to 2015, although it is unclear whether they obtained a degree from this institution.
