Jim Canning has extensive work experience in real estate and facilities management. Jim started their career at Harland and Wolff Heavy Industries Limited as a Facilities Manager in 1986. After working there for three years, they joined Nortel in 1989 and served in various real estate management roles until 2002. In 2003, they became the Real Estate Lead for EMEA & GCAP at Nortel, where they managed and communicated effectively within a complex matrix organization across multiple time-zones and multi-cultural environments. Jim aligned real estate strategies with business unit deliverables and played a key role in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures across regions. In 2008, Jim joined Pfizer as the Vice President of Global Operations for Real Estate & Facilities Management in EMEA & APAC. In this role, they were responsible for managing Pfizer's property and asset portfolio across 300+ locations in over 80 countries. Jim led a team of approximately 100 colleagues and provided direction and strategy that aligned with Pfizer's business goals and objectives.

Jim Canning obtained a Master of Science degree in Manufacturing Management from Ulster University, which they completed from 1988 to 1991. Prior to that, they pursued studies in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Ulster University from 1983 to 1986. In 2015, they achieved a Senior Leader Corporate Real Estate (SLCR) degree from CoreNet. Additionally, in 2008, they earned a Master in Corporate Real Estate (MCR) from CoreNet, specializing in CoreNet.
