Michelle Akande has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Michelle is currently serving as a Member of the Board of Advisors at Nottingham University Business School. Prior to this, they worked at Pfizer as the Vice President of Global Commercial Access Partnerships & Innovative Financing, overseeing product access market shaping solutions. Michelle also held the position of Vice President of Health Markets at MedAccess.

Michelle Akande obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Health Policy from Imperial College London in the years 2013 to 2015. In 2007 and 2008, they attended Nottingham University Business School, where they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Michelle also pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Journalism at Goldsmiths, University of London from 2004 to 2005. Michelle furthered their education with the Women's Leadership Development Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford in 2020 to 2021. Michelle has also participated in the Executive Education program in Mergers & Acquisitions at London Business School in 2023. Currently, Michelle is pursuing a Diploma in Company Direction through the Chartered Director Programme at the Institute of Directors (IoD) from 2022 to 2024. Lastly, in 2020, they completed a course on Global Health Diplomacy at The State University of New York.
