Shahzad Akhtar

Shahzad Akhtar currently serves as Associate Director in the Clinical Assay Group at Pfizer, a position held since October 2022. Prior experience includes roles as Director of Bioanalytical Development at Arena Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from November 2021 to October 2022, and Associate Director of Bioanalytical Sciences at Esperion from September 2019 to November 2021. Shahzad held the position of Senior Lead Scientist/Senior Principal Investigator at Covance from August 2016 to September 2019, and served as Senior Scientist at Astellas Pharma from May 1999 to June 2016. Shahzad Akhtar holds a Master of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Illinois Chicago, attained in January 1998, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the same institution, completed in January 1997.
