Alexander Vartan

V.p. Asiapacific & Sustainability Ambassador at PGS

Alexander Vartan has extensive work experience in the oil and gas industry. Alexander started their career in 1995 as an Onboard Geophysicist at Western Geophysical, where they worked on projects in the North Sea, Red Sea, Saudi Arabia, and East Africa until September 1998.

In October 1998, they joined PGS as a MultiClient Project Manager and held this position until May 2001. Alexander then became the Country Manager in Nigeria and, prior to that, worked as the PGS MC Project Manager in Weybridge. Alexander worked in this role until May 2005.

From May 2005 to August 2011, Alexander served as the Managing Director of PGS do Brasil and Vice President of South America. Alexander then took on the role of Vice President of South America MultiClient until April 2014. Subsequently, they became the Vice President of Africa MultiClient and held this position until June 2019.

In June 2019, Alexander was promoted to the position of Vice President, Asia Pacific, and Sustainability Ambassador at PGS.

Alexander Vartan holds an MSc in Marine Geotechnics from UCNW, which they obtained in 1994. Prior to that, they completed their BSc in Physics with Geophysics at the University of Bath in 1993. In addition, they have obtained a certification in "How to Be an Adaptable Employee during Change and Uncertainty" from LinkedIn, although the specific month of attainment is not provided.
