Rita Lobatto M.D., Mph

Rita Lobatto MD MPH has a diverse and extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Rita is currently serving as the VP Pharmacovigilance and QPPV at Pharming Group N.V. Prior to this, they held various senior positions in pharmacovigilance at Astellas Pharma US, including Associate Medical Director Medical Safety, Lead Data Assurance & Medical Consistency EMEA, Global Medical Expert, and Assistant Director of Pharmacovigilance Alliance Management. Rita also worked as the Director of Pharmacovigilance at Julius Clinical and MSD Nederland. Before entering the industry, they had experience as the Director of International Pharmacovigilance at Janssen, Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson and Johnson. Rita Lobatto MD MPH also has a background in research, having served as a Scientific Project Leader in postoperative pain research at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Rita started their career as the owner and managing consultant at RP&L Consultancy. Overall, their extensive experience demonstrates their expertise in pharmacovigilance and their ability to manage and lead in the pharmaceutical industry.

Rita Lobatto obtained a Certificate in Pharmaceutical Management from IFB, Instituut Farmaceutische Bedrijfskunde in 1995-1996. Prior to that, they earned an arts AGZ/MPH degree in Public Health from TNO-NIPG from 1992-1994. Rita completed their MD in Medicine from Universiteit Leiden in 1975-1983. Additionally, they studied History of Art at Universiteit Leiden in 1974-1975 and attended Het Nederlands Lyceum from 1972-1974.
