Zahia TOUAT-HAMICI

Pharmacology Project Manager at Pharnext

Zahia Touat-Hamiche has a diverse work experience in the scientific research field. Zahia is currently employed as a Pharmacology Project Manager at Pharnext since March 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Scientist in Systems Biology at Pharnext from February 2020 to March 2022.

Before joining Pharnext, Zahia worked as a Senior Research Scientist at INSERM-UMRS 1166 from March 2018 to January 2020. In this role, they focused on studying the genetic origin of Ventricular Fibrillation, the leading cause of sudden unexplained cardiac death. Zahia'sresponsibilities included whole exome sequencing of patients, functional validation of genetic variants, and protein-protein interaction characterization, among others. Zahia achieved two publications during their tenure.

From January 2013 to January 2016, Zahia held the position of Scientific Researcher at INSERM-UMR-ICAN 1166. Here, they contributed to a transatlantic consortium project aimed at understanding the role of Lipid Phosphate Phosphatase 3 in endothelial cell dysfunction during atherosclerosis. Zahia conducted various experiments and assays to investigate the protective role of LPP3 and identified candidate genes implicated in atherosclerosis. Zahia also published two research papers during their time at INSERM-UMR-ICAN 1166.

Zahia started their professional career as a Scientific Researcher at CNRS - Centre national de la recherche scientifique from October 2009 to December 2012. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Teaching Assistant at ULCO from October 2008 to November 2009.

Zahia's academic background includes being a PHD Student at LGBC-CNRS Université de Versailles from October 2006 to October 2009.

Overall, Zahia Touat-Hamiche has extensive experience in scientific research, with a focus on studying genetics, cellular mechanisms, and disease pathology. Zahia has achieved notable publications and has contributed to various research projects throughout their career.

Zahia TOUAT-HAMICI pursued their education at various universities in Paris. In 2004, they attended Université Paris Cité where they obtained a Master 1 degree in Biochemistry with a focus on immunology. Zahia then continued their studies at Paris-Sud University (Paris XI) from 2005 to 2006, where they obtained a Master 2 degree in Cellular Signaling and Neuroscience.
