Julie Vilanova is the Social Media Manager at the Philadelphia 76ers. Julie was previously an Associate News Producer at CBS Sports from March 2018 to September 2021. In their role at CBS Sports, they served as the leading editorial voice during live studio programming and partnered with producers to generate urgent, effective coverage of breaking news. Julie also created and maintained targeted media lists, developed strong relationships with reporters/editors and pitched story ideas to enhance the news and story coverage across all CBS sports programming. Additionally, they prepared and distributed news briefs, press releases, scripts for broadcast and key points for graphics on news across all sports with emphasis on NFL, College Football, College Basketball, NBA, MLS and PGA Tour Golf. Julie also led the social content calendar, ideating new ways to support social moments and campaigns in addition to "always on" content. In their role at CBS Sports, they also educated on-air talent and production staff on the key details of a developing story and offered perspective on proper context for presentation on all shows. Additionally, they managed the day-to-day implementation of sponsored elements and integrations across CBS Sports studio shows. Julie also worked closely with the CBS Sports research team to find compelling research findings and tell stories with data.
Julie Vilanova has a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication/Media Studies from Purdue University and also studied London Global Studies at CAPA International: London Study Abroad.
