Ernest Owens

Ernest Owens, M.A., is the CEO of Ernest Media Empire, LLC, a media company that focuses on writing, communications, and consulting for organizations dedicated to public service and community advocacy. Currently serving as the Philadelphia Editor for Eater and Political Writer at Large for Philadelphia magazine, Ernest Owens has also held roles as an Adjunct Professor at both the Community College of Philadelphia and Cheyney University of Pennsylvania. In addition, Ernest Owens presides over the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists and has been a Pop Culture Writer for TheGrio since 2017. Past contributions include writing for MTV and CNN, alongside producing and hosting the television talk show "Ernestly Speaking!" on Philadelphia Community Access Media. Educational credentials comprise a Master of Communication Management from USC Annenberg and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Pennsylvania.
