John Thiessen

John Thiessen has a wealth of experience in the music industry, serving as the Executive Director of Gotham Early Music Scene (GEMS) where John oversees various activities such as concert production, educational outreach, marketing, fundraising, and donor relations. Additionally, John holds the role of Director of Education & Concert Production at GEMS, managing educational programs and concert production for GEMS ensembles. With a background as a Principal Trumpet player in various orchestras and as a Baroque Trumpet Instructor at prestigious institutions such as The Juilliard School, John has established himself as a talented and experienced musician and educator in the field of historical performance.
