Kai Goebel

Kai Goebel serves as the Vice President and Director of the Intelligent Systems Lab at SRI International, leading cutting-edge research in AI applications and cyber-physical security since May 2023. With an extensive background in academia, including an adjunct professorship at Luleå tekniska universitet, and editorial responsibilities with the PHM Society, Goebel has held significant positions at renowned organizations such as PARC, NASA Ames Research Center, and GE Global Research. An accomplished researcher, Goebel founded the Prognostics Center of Excellence at NASA, contributing significantly to advancements in machine learning and prognostics, amassing several awards and patents throughout a distinguished career that began with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
