Shawn J. Green

Director, Shawn brings 20+ years of operational experience in the development of biologics, small molecules, medical devices, and life science informatics.

His professional career began as a Medical Service Corp Officer at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research to develop new strategies to safeguard the soldiers against emerging infectious diseases where he was awarded the U.S. Military’s Meritorious Service Medal.

After completing his duties at Walter Reed, he served as SVP of Drug Discovery at EntreMed, a biotechnology company focused on developing anti-cancer drugs. As director of the thalidomide program, his work led to the development of Bristol Myers Squibb’s current drugs to treat multiple myeloma.

He has published nearly 100 articles, in such journals as, Science, Nature, and 30+ patents. Dr. Green served on various boards including the Virginia Biotechnology Industrial Organization, DOD Panel for immunomodulation strategies to treat infectious diseases, and associate editor for ASM’s Infection Immunity. He was an associate at Johns Hopkins and served as a dissertation advisor at Catholic and Howard University. Currently, he is an associate at the Lundquist Institute, UCLA Medical Center.

Shawn received his Ph.D. from the School of Medicine & Dentistry and an MBA in finance and strategy, from the Business School at Georgetown University.
