Shawn McNulty

Shawn McNulty has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Shawn started their career as a Bookseller, Shipping and Receiving at Barnes & Noble in 2004. Shawn then worked as a Kitchen Manager at Eola Wine Company, where they were responsible for food preparation, stock management, and training new hires.

In 2008, Shawn joined SunTrust Bank as a Systems and Procedures Analyst. Shawn assisted the Product Managers in managing accounts, compiling reports, and providing general support. Shawn later transitioned to the role of Risk Operations Specialist/Support, where they managed rewards points and handled escalations from client care.

Shawn ventured into the field of programming in 2013 as a Junior Programmer at DreamTree. Shawn developed custom websites using WordPress and assisted in debugging and QA checks. Shawn also contributed to the development of a custom CMS built on the LAMP stack.

From 2014 to 2018, Shawn worked at Raytheon as an Associate Software Engineer. Sub-contracted from Riptide Software, they assisted in creating MIS interfaces for Raytheon's Warfighter Field Operations Customer Support program using C#. Shawn then joined Riptide Software as a Software Engineer, where they designed, built, and modified websites for commercial clients and in-house sites. Shawn utilized various technologies, including CSS/Less, HTML5, JavaScript, PHP, and Angular.

In 2018, Shawn joined General Dynamics as a Software Engineer through their contract with Riptide Software. Shawn worked on the CPM project, building combat simulations using an Angular/Java/PostgreSQL stack.

Currently, Shawn holds the position of Software Engineer Technical Lead at Phoenix Defense, LLC, starting in 2021.

Shawn McNulty has a diverse education history. Shawn began their studies in 1993 at Pasco-Hernando State College, where they earned an Associate in Arts degree in Education. From there, they attended the University of South Florida from 1997 to 2002, studying Journalism, Elementary Education, and Child Psychology. During this time, they did not earn a degree. Following this, Shawn attended Valencia College from 2002 to 2004, where they pursued a degree in Film Production Technology and earned an Associate in Science degree. Shawn then continued their education at the University of Central Florida from 2005 to 2007, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Shawn's academic journey concluded at Valencia College from 2012 to 2014, where they obtained an Associate's Degree in Computer Programming and Analysis.
