David Wong has a diverse work experience in the software engineering field. David is currently working as a Software Engineer at Phoenix Labs, where they specialize in optimization and game performance profiling. David is also involved in porting games to next-gen platforms such as PS5 and XSX.
Prior to their current role, David worked as a Software Engineer at SkyBox Labs, where they gained experience from 2018 to 2021.
From 2010 to 2018, David worked at Capcom Game Studio Vancouver as a Software Engineer. During their time there, they worked on various projects such as Dead Rising 4 and an unannounced title. David was responsible for platform-specific development, game and level streaming optimization, game save/load, and overall game optimization.
Before joining Capcom, David worked at Blue Castle Games as a Software Engineer, where they contributed to Dead Rising 2 and worked on the audio system implementation.
David also has experience outside of the gaming industry. David worked as an Automation Engineer at Electronic Arts (EA) in 2007.
In addition to their software engineering roles, David has research experience. David worked as a Research Assistant at City University of Hong Kong in the field of biomechanics, focusing on analyzing the influence of different grips in the triceps pushdown exercise. David also worked as a Research Assistant at HKUST, where they contributed to a project on biometric authentication using hand images.
David's early experience includes working as a Certified Personal Trainer at Fitness First from 2004 to 2005.
