Will Swannack has a diverse work experience in the gaming industry. Will started their career as a Java Game Programmer at the University of Puget Sound in 2007. Will then worked as a Gameplay Engineer Intern at Pipeworks in 2008. After that, they were a Student at The Guildhall at SMU from 2009 to 2010.
In 2011, Will Swannack served as a Gameplay Programmer at Red Fly Studio, where they led a small team to develop Inertia: Escape Velocity, an iOS and Android game using the Unity engine.
In 2012, they joined Portalarium as a Client Programmer and also began working at PopCap Games as a Game Programmer. At PopCap Games, they worked on Solitaire Blitz, built prototypes for various IP, and created UI prototypes for PvZ Heroes.
From 2016 to 2018, Swannack worked as a VR Programmer at Pluto VR, before joining Ghostly Bear Games in 2018 as a Senior Software Engineer. At Ghostly Bear Games, they worked on projects using C++ Unreal, implemented networked gameplay code for a multiplayer turn-based game, created a unit customization suite, and implemented core gameplay systems for In Search of Home.
Currently, Will Swannack is working at Phoenix Labs as a Senior Programmer Team Lead, starting from April 2020.
Will Swannack pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Puget Sound, attending from 2005 to 2009. Following this, they furthered their education by completing a Masters degree in Interactive Technology from Southern Methodist University, with enrollment spanning from 2009 to 2010.
