Geric Sumatra has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies.

Geric began their career at Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Inc. in 2012 as a Pricing Data and Business analyst. Geric worked in this role for nearly two years before transitioning to the position of Masterdata analyst and SD Business analyst at Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc. where they were responsible for implementing the SAP system in the CME Production plant.

In 2014, Geric took on a new challenge as a Masterdata analyst and SD Business and Functional analyst at Phoenix Petroterminals & Industrial Park Corp and Subic Petroleum trading & transport Phil, Inc. Geric played a key role in implementing the SAP system for the subsidiary companies, focusing on Sales and Distribution.

Moving on to 2015, Geric joined Chelsea Shipping Group, a conglomerate of six companies, as a Masterdata analyst and SD Business analyst. Geric worked on the implementation of the SAP system, specifically in the Sales and Distribution area.

Geric returned to Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Inc. in 2016 as a Sales Support Supervisor. Geric managed a team of specialists and oversaw Sales support functions, ensuring accurate and timely operational requests. Geric also led department-wide initiatives in process improvement and received recognition for their contributions to people development.

In 2018, Geric was promoted to the role of Customer Service Assistant Manager, where they managed multiple teams and focused on operational excellence through innovation and improvement. Geric also participated as a subject matter expert in leadership meetings and resolved high-critical operational issues.

Most recently, Geric served as the Customer Operations Manager at Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Inc. from 2018 to 2021. In this role, they managed functional teams, aligned business priorities and strategies, and provided leadership support and coaching.

In May 2021, Geric was appointed as the Business Process Improvement Manager at Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Inc. In this position, they are responsible for driving a culture of continuous improvement, managing a team of Continuous Improvement leads, and developing strategic plans for Continuous Improvement, Business Process Management, and Robotic Process Automation programs.

Geric Sumatra completed their Bachelor's degree in Statistics at the University of Southeastern Philippines from 2005 to 2009. Geric furthered their education by pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the same university, studying from 2017 to 2019.

In addition to their academic accomplishments, Geric has obtained various certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. Geric obtained the Google Project Management Certificate and Google Data Analytics Certificate from Coursera in June 2023 and January 2023, respectively. Geric also completed a certification in Data Analytics for Lean Six Sigma from the University of Amsterdam in December 2022.

Furthermore, Geric has several certifications from LinkedIn, including Agile Foundations, Ecommerce Fundamentals, Lean Six Sigma Foundations, Operational Excellence Foundations, Process Improvement Foundations, Scrum: The Basics, Six Sigma: Black Belt, Digital Body Language, Leading at a Distance, and Operations Management Foundations. These certifications were obtained between May 2020 and June 2020.
