Roger Thomas

Mr. Thomas has over 30 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry and extensive knowledge of business strategy and macro industry trends. The majority of his career was at Nexen Inc (“Nexen”) where he held various senior executive positions, including Executive Vice President of North America, Chief Executive Officer and President of Nexen Canada, and Senior Vice President of the Canadian Oil and Gas division including Nexen Chemicals Canada LP. In addition, Mr. Thomas is a very active member of the industry and community, with some of his past roles including Vice President of the Alberta Chamber of Resources, Chair of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (“CAPP”), Chair of The Nature Conservancy of Canada (Saskatchewan Region), and Division Co-Chair for the Calgary United Way (Engineering, Energy Services Supply Division). In addition, he was a member of the Premier of Alberta's recent Carbon Capture and Storage Council and assisted with the Department of Energy’s most recent Royalty review. Mr. Thomas served on Flint Energy Services Ltd.’s Board of Directors for the past three years and was Chairman of the Compensation Committee and a Member of the Environment, Health, Safety and Risk Management Committee.
