Marilyn Montúfar is an accomplished photographer, artist, and educator with extensive experience in teaching and community programming focused on social justice and art as activism. Currently serving as Teaching Faculty at Photographic Center Northwest, Marilyn designs and delivers college coursework that emphasizes storytelling through photography. Marilyn also manages collaborations with various artists and writers through Marilyn Montúfar Photography and has held teaching artist positions at Gage Academy of Art and Coyote Central, where innovative art programming was developed. Notable roles include Associate Administrator for Ancient Near Eastern Art at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Photography Instructor at Youth in Focus, where Marilyn directed youth programs for students from diverse backgrounds. Marilyn's educational background includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from the School of Visual Arts and ongoing professional development through various art centers and residencies. Marilyn has received recognition as a finalist for awards such as the Neddy at Cornish and the Betty Bowen Award.
