Matthew Köse-Dunn has a background in biosciences and neuroscience. Matthew began their career in 2011 as a participant in the Student's Associate Scheme (now Warwick in Schools or WinS) at the University of Warwick. This program allowed him to gain teaching experience by shadowing teachers and observing lessons, as well as learning teaching theory. Matthew then spent six weeks in South Africa teaching Physical Sciences, Life Sciences and Maths at Bopasenatla secondary school in Soweto. In 2013, they earned their MSc Research Project at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, working with Dr. Javier Diaz-Nido on a disease model for Friedreich's ataxia using olfactory mucosal stem cells. Matthew also began their First Year PhD at Loughborough University that same year. In 2014, they completed their PhD project at Keele University, studying neuroscience and the optimisation of an in vitro model of the basal ganglia. Matthew also completed three mini-projects, one at Loughborough University, one at the University of Nottingham, and one at Keele University. In 2019, they began working as a Teaching Fellow in Biosciences at Keele University and as a Content Manager and Science Writer at Teledyne Photometrics.
Matthew Köse-Dunn obtained their BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Warwick in 2012, followed by an MSc in Neuroscience from Keele University in 2013. In 2017, they were awarded a Fellow from the Higher Education Academy. Matthew completed their PhD in Regenerative Medicine from Keele University in 2018.
