Peter Kim Ph. D

Peter Kim, Ph.D, MBA has extensive work experience in the semiconductor industry. Peter is currently working as a Sr. Director of Technology at Photronics since 2023. Prior to this, they served as the SVP of GaN Business Group at SK Siltron from 2021 to 2023. From 2011 to 2021, they held various leadership roles at Infineon Technologies, including Sr. Director of Strategic Competition Analysis in Wide Bandgap Semiconductors, Sr. Director and Head of Global GaN Epitaxy Technology Development, and Executive Director of GaN EPI Development. Before that, they worked as a Sr. Manager of Etch Engineering at Samsung Austin Semiconductor from 2007 to 2011 and as a Process Engineering Group Leader at Intel Corporation from 2000 to 2007. Peter started their career as a Member of Technical Staff at LG Corporate Institute of Technology from 1998 to 1999.

Peter Kim, Ph.D, MBA, obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in IT Management from Brandman University, where they studied from 2013 to 2016. Prior to this, they pursued their Ph.D in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1993 to 1998. Peter also holds a MS and BS in Metallurgical Engineering from Yonsei University, attained from 1985 to 1991. In addition to their academic achievements, Peter Kim has obtained certifications in German fluency from Duolingo, including "Duolingo German Fluency: Elementary (Estimated)" in August 2016 and "Duolingo German Fluency: Beginner (Estimated)" in April 2016.
