Andrew Powaleny has a diverse work experience. Andrew started their career as a Field Representative for Re-Elect Congressman Rob Simmons in 2000 and continued in that role until 2006. In 2006, they worked as a Resident Assistant at Eastern Connecticut State University until 2009. Andrew then became the Communications Director for Sean Sullivan for Congress from March 2008 to November 2008. In 2010, they worked as a Direct Mail Specialist at CRAFT Media/Digital. From 2011 to 2013, they served as the Deputy Press Secretary for the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce. In 2013, they became the Director at The Herald Group and stayed until 2015. Since then, Andrew has held various positions at PhRMA, starting as a Senior Manager, then Director, and currently as a Senior Director, focusing on scientific and innovation public affairs.

Andrew Powaleny holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Public Policy & Government with a minor in Music from Eastern Connecticut State University. Andrew also completed three courses for collegiate credit at Georgetown University. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a Pharmaceutical Management Executive Education Certificate from Rutgers University - Newark in 2015 and a Public Policy Fellowship from The Fund for American Studies in 2011. Andrew is currently pursuing a certification in Maximizing Your Leadership Potential from the Center for Creative Leadership, expected to be obtained in 2022.
