Dr. Runyon-Hass has been involved, both formally and informally, with quality, patient safety and clinical education initiatives for many years. In addition, he brings extensive leadership experience to the role, having served as Chief of Anesthesia at Centennial Medical Center, Director of the Advanced Joint Replacement Institute at St. Thomas Midtown and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia, among many other positions.
Dr. Runyon-Hass completed his undergraduate studies at The College of Wooster in Ohio and earned a PhD in Experimental Pathology from the University of Chicago. He subsequently obtained his medical degree from the University of Chicago, followed by an anesthesia residency with additional cardiac anesthesia training at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.
