Raul I. Ramos-Garcia has held a variety of roles in the technology industry since 2005. From 2005 to 2006, they were a Software Engineer Intern at GE and an Embedded Systems Engineer Intern at Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE). In 2008, they were an Adjunct Professor at Universidad de Sonora. From 2011 to 2014, they were a Graduate Research Assistant at Clemson University, where they developed signal processing and pattern recognition algorithms to spot and recognize human activities related to eating by tracking wrist motions through MEMS sensors during a meal in an uncontrolled environment. Raul I. also worked on a BMW "Automated Visual Inspector" project, funded by the National Institutes of Health. From 2014 to 2015, they were an Assistant Professor at Tecnológico de Monterrey. From 2015 to 2016, they were a Postdoctoral Research Associate at The University of Alabama, where they worked in the Computer Laboratory of Ambient and Wearable Systems. Currently, they are a Sr. Machine Learning Engineer at Phyn.
Raul I. Ramos-Garcia obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Instituto Tecnologico Superior de Cajeme between 2002 and 2006. Raul I. then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical Engineering at Clemson University, which they completed in 2014. Additionally, Raul I. Ramos-Garcia has obtained multiple certifications in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Artificial Intelligence from Coursera, Coursera Course Certificates, and Coursera Verified Certificates between 2011 and 2016.
