Gopal Pillai, PharmD, AAHIVP, M.B.A has over 18 years of experience in the pharmacy industry. In 2003, they began their career at Walgreens as a Pharmacy Technician and worked their way up to a Staff Pharmacist, Management Intern, and Pharmacy Manager. In 2015, they joined Memorial Hermann Health System as a Clinical Supplemental Pharmacist. In 2017, they began working at JPS Health Network as the Director of Outpatient Pharmacy, where they were responsible for supervising all operations and management processes for all John Peter Smith Health Network pharmacies. In 2018, they joined AIDS Healthcare Foundation as the Pharmacy Manager, leading a specialty pharmacy accredited by URAC and ACHC focused on providing HIV care to over 1M patients located around the world. In 2022, they began working at Physicians Rx Pharmacy as the Deputy Chief Operating Officer, providing 340B pharmacy management services, medication therapy management programs, and consulting services for 340B covered entities.

Gopal Pillai, PharmD, AAHIVP, M.B.A has a diverse educational history. Gopal obtained their High School/Secondary Diplomas and Certificates from Elsik High School between 2000 and 2002. Gopal then obtained their Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from Texas Southern University between 2005 and 2009. In 2011, they obtained their Compounding in Pharmacy and HIV Specialty certifications from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and their Chemotherapy and Intravenous certification from the Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists (TSHP). In 2015, they obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a Healthcare Specialization from Rice Business - Jones Graduate School of Business. In 2020, they obtained their Management Excellence & Lean Six Sigma - Green Belt certification from Optness Institute and their AAHIVP Certified | HIV Pharmacist certification from the American Academy of HIV Medicine. Gopal also holds a Pharmacist certification from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy and a Pharmacy based Immunization Delivery certification from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). Gopal is currently in the process of obtaining their 340B University OnDemand certification from Apexus LLC.
