Crystal Escolero

University Engagement Lead at Piazza

Crystal Escolero has held a variety of roles in the past few years. In 2015, they were a Volunteer Coordinator for the Ecological Society of America. In 2016, they were a Program Counselor for The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, where they mentored children aged 7 to 15 with chronic or life-threatening diagnoses. In 2017, they were an Audio Producer for the Stanford Storytelling Project, where they pitched story ideas, conducted interviews, wrote and edited scripts for State of the Human podcast. Crystal also was a Curriculum Intern for Code for Cape Town, where they designed a machine learning workshop for high school girls and refined the existing JavaScript curriculum for beginners. In 2018, they were a Teaching Assistant at Stanford University and a Freelance UI Designer for Upwork. Finally, in 2019, they were a University Engagement Lead and User Operations at Piazza and a University & Customer Engagement Lead for User Operations.

Crystal Escolero received their high school diploma from Walt Whitman High School in 2014 and then went on to obtain their Bachelor's degree in Symbolic Systems with a Human-Computer Interaction Concentration from Stanford University in 2018.
