Nathaniel Stas has a diverse work experience in the field of swine genetics and reproduction. Nathaniel started their career at The Maschhoffs as a Genetic Supervisor, where they played a crucial role in maximizing genetic progress and production on a maternal nucleus farm. Nathaniel also trained and supervised technical personnel and made important decisions regarding the selection and matings of replacement gilts and boars.

Nathaniel then joined the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as a Graduate Research Assistant, where they focused on applied swine genetics and reproduction as an M.S. student.

Currently, Nathaniel works at Pig Improvement Company (PIC) - North America. Nathaniel started as a Technical Service Specialist in 2017 and was later promoted to Technical Services Manager in 2020. Nathaniel currently holds the position of Technical Services Director.

Nathaniel Stas holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Animal Production, Genetics, and Reproduction, which they obtained from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the years 2015-2016. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Animal Sciences at Penn State University from 2009 to 2013. In addition to their academic qualifications, Nathaniel Stas also obtained a certification as a Qualified Supporter of a Harassment-free, Green Workplace Culture in January 2018.
