Yagmur Kan

Yagmur Kan has a diverse range of work experience in the field of research. Starting from their most recent position, Yagmur worked as a Senior Scientist at PIC Therapeutics from February 2023. Prior to that, Yagmur was a Research Assistant at Stony Brook University from January 2020 to December 2022, where they gained experience in various research roles. Yagmur also worked as a Research Assistant at Stony Brook University from May 2015 to February 2018, during which time they also served as a Teaching Assistant, instructing and supervising undergraduate students in a laboratory course. Before that, Yagmur was a Summer Research Intern at University College London in 2013, conducting research on the Anaphase Promoting Complex/Cyclosome. They also worked as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at Bilkent University from September 2012 to May 2013, investigating the expression of EMT markers in hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines. Yagmur's earliest experience includes a Summer Research Internship at Erasmus MC in 2012, where they undertook a project focused on protein-protein interactions in breast cancer cell line microarrays. Yagmur Kan completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Stony Brook University. Prior to that, from 2010 to 2014, Yagmur pursued their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Bilkent University. Before their university studies, they attended TED Istanbul College Foundation High School from 2005 to 2010. Additionally, in the year 2008 to 2009, Yagmur briefly attended Northcoast Preparatory and Performing Arts Academy.
