Francesco Ciocca, PhD, currently serves as Regional Director at Picarro, Inc. since January 2019, where additional roles have included Program Manager and Field Application Engineer. With experience at Silixa Ltd. from October 2014 to July 2020, Francesco worked as an Application Engineer and later as a Research Engineer & Co-Investigator for the Distributed intelligent Heat Pulse Sensor (DiHPS) project funded by the British National Environmental Research Council. Responsibilities at Silixa included system design and installation, algorithm implementation for data interpretation, and drafting technical specifications and publications. Prior roles encompass postdoctoral research at the Swiss Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) and teaching mathematics at the Technical Institute Bodoni. Francesco earned a PhD in Mechanics, Soil Physics, and Environmental Engineering from EPFL and a Master of Science in Physics of the Environment from Università degli Studi di Torino.
