Wildlife Habitat Restoration Coordinator at Piedmont Environmental Council

October Greenfield is an experienced wildlife habitat restoration professional currently serving as the Wildlife Habitat Restoration Coordinator for the Piedmont Environmental Council since September 2021. In this role, October leads a partnership with the Smithsonian's Virginia Working Landscapes to initiate the Virginia Grassland Bird Initiative and manages natural resource restoration projects at various PEC-owned properties. Prior experience includes serving as Upper River Steward for Friends Of The Rappahannock, where October managed the Headwater Stream Initiative and enhanced public river access, as well as roles as a Naturalist with the Fairfax County Park Authority and intern positions focused on grassland bird research and environmental education. October holds a Master's degree in Natural Resources from Virginia Tech and a Bachelor's degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences from South Dakota State University.
