Jamal Jones

Jamal Jones is the current Chief Administrative Officer at Piedmont Health. Prior to their current position, they served as the Director of Business Development for Medicaid at Aetna from September 2016 to January 2021. In this role, they were responsible for evaluating potential options to respond to negative margins for hospital-owned health plans and assisted in the development of a new operating plan for the health plan and hospital system. Jamal also led the evaluation of current cost accounting drivers and developed new cost accounting drivers for a regional health insurance plan.

From July 2014 to September 2016, Jamal Jones served as the Senior Program Manager for Business Operations at the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. In this role, they were responsible for developing annual budget planning, strategic enterprise planning, and capital management planning processes for a regional health insurance plan. Jamal also led a strategic quality improvement project and managed accreditation survey preparation for a large Midwestern health system.

Jamal Jones began their career as a Senior Consultant at Deloitte Consulting from July 2005 to December 2006. In this role, they created and executed a strategy to identify unique customer segments and improve the alignment of product offering and price with customer need for a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical firm/medical device manufacturer.

Jamal Jones has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and a Masters of Healthcare Administration (M.H.A.) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Jamal's undergraduate degree is in Biology from Davidson College. Jamal is also Green Belt/Lean Six Sigma Certified.

They are on a team with Jen Sosa - Director of Information Technology, Saini R. Kundapati - Director of Corporate Compliance & Quality, and Soyinia Hargraves - Chief of Staff. Their manager is Brian Toomey, CEO.
