Ruth Alahydoian

Ruth Alahydoian is a seasoned financial professional with extensive experience in the education sector. Currently serving as the Chief Business Officer and Chief Financial Officer for the Piedmont Unified School District since July 2018, Ruth oversees all financial matters for the district, which has a budget of $790 million, serving 37,000 students and 4,700 employees. Prior to this role, Ruth was the Director of District Advisory Services at the Alameda County Office of Education and Chief Financial Officer for the Oakland Unified School District. With over 18 years at KNN Public Finance, Ruth managed financial transactions and relationships for numerous school districts in California. Ruth began their career as an Economist at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, focusing on federal housing and economic development programs. Ruth holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a BA in Diplomacy and World Affairs from Occidental College.
